Chiropractors might make a lot of “noise” when performing an adjustment and it may seem like we’re about to “break” you but fear not!
To clarify a common misunderstanding: chiropractors don’t “crack your back.” That popping sound is a gas bubble being released from between two joints that have been coaxed into alignment. A study published in 2002 found that patients with low back pain treated by chiropractors showed greater improvement after one month than those treated by physicians. That’s why we do it.
Over time, chiropractic adjustments can make a big difference in your spinal health. So, go ahead and call us “back crackers” if you like, but get an adjustment and you’ll discover what all the “popping” is about.
